Hanrahan reminds me of the standard Cocky's lament:
"Had a big drought and lost 30% of me stock, then, blow me down, it rained and lost another 30% in the flood, now the bleedin grass is so long I can't find the rest of 'em."
If this rain keeps up and a bit more falls inland we Queenslanders might be able to send you down some in a couple of months Digger. Floods on the Murray could be a bit different around January don't you reckon.
Regards
Glen

The CEO of my ISP, Skymesh, has just posted the information that their phones are all out due to flooding of Telstra infrastructure (Baxter St, wherever that is in Brisbane) so don't bother phoning their help desk. All their services still work, though. They are moving some staff to their disaster recovery site.

Baxter St. is in Fortitude Valley. The lower end of it runs into Water St, well named as it is on top of an enormous storm water drain built in the late 1800's and runs under the RNA showgrounds into Breakfast Creek. A bit of water does accumulate there when the big drain is near capacity.

At 5 this morning I emptied our overflowing rain gauge, more than 190mm in last few days. At 9 this morning I emptied another 102 mm. 13 mm in it now.

Hmm - seems like a good time to move back to SEQ... We have just had one of the dryest winters on record (WA gets most of its rain in winter).
I have made enquiries about a supply of gopher wood. I will make a start on bringing in the animals two by two. First up, a couple of 20 year old cheerleaders then a couple of chorus girls. Maybe a couple of choir boys for the ship's chaplain. Hmm, perhaps the herd word for choir boys is a copulation.
