if your smart you will.other wise you loose thousands in resale.
also if you cross state boarders you have to prove identity each time.

come across a few that had police chasis numbers and its hard to resell.
waiting to see what happens with a hilux next week and what is on the replacment.

A while back I bumped into a GN couple who were in the midst of sorting out the problem they were having with thier 100 series, in that the auto trans was playing up, and they needed to get it to a auto trans specialist to get it looked at. I enquired as to the size of the van they were towing, which wasnt exactly small, and my next questions were along the lines of did it have a trans cooler, and why didnt it.....

I was told "it shouldnt need one, these vehicles are designed to tow"....

They were more than a little put off when I told them that no light vehicle in Australia is designed primarily to tow, hence why a towbar is an ACCESSORY part....

information is power, and if they were forewarned and it did happen, it might help them if the hire company said that it was their improper use of the vehicle.

pretty much.
But if you went up to them and said something along the lines of letting them know that it's a well documented issue, and just to keep it in mind if something happens then unless they're real ******, they'd probably be grateful :)

Looks like they needs some of those wires that are fitted down to the bar to kep the scrub off, would also tie the top of the camper down and forward.

Used to laugh at the japers with little box trailers try to catch up to the 130 with car trailer and loaded 4wd on trailer. Most would be very upset at a landy passing them and then notice the load.

Knowing how hard george130 pulls I'm not surprised it can smoke Jappers fully loaded. Sadly tho even some Wally's on here still think you need an inEfficient white good to tow a load

The airbags on a mates patrol definitely caused the rear upper coil mounts to tear from the chassis.Not fun when it all happens in Oodnadatta.

Now a bit more vehicle maintenance & advice on pressures that should have been in the airbags from the installer may have helped,so in a way the vehicle owner is at fault.

Now the stock Puma that was on the same trip,carrying as much,if not more weight,didn't have a problem.
