If they weren't being bought for me locally (:tease:) then I would definately be going to tyre rack. Even though I am only getting something relatively normal on Bridgestone D694's in 245/70/16LT. At $136ea vs $289ea and quoted $60-ea shipping thats good enough savings over 5 tyres.
Did you have to pay any import duty on this?

I'm hoping I still end up with a saving :). Fitting/balancing I have a mate, but even if you had to pay, go to a small/seconds tyre shop they'll do it for next to nothing.
Bridgestone wanted $25-ea shipping as to get a whole set they had to come from more than one location. So $125- for a product already in the country.
Tyres arrived a day later than estimated date of delivery. I didn't get charged GST or duties :)
All up including fitting/balancing ($25ea from Associated tyre wholesale) the km2's cost me: AU$281/tyre (received them in 8 days from when I confirmed the order - after they received payment)
Sold my old tyres for $50 ea (they still had some life in them, geolandar HT 235/65)

I just purchased 4 Km2 265/75/16 from Tirerack for my mate and they came in 5 days!!!!:o
It has taken longer than that to get something via Aus post 130km away!:p
BTW you definatley do NOT pay any duties if the value of goods is UNDER AU$1000. Irrelevant of shipping costs. seems to still be some confusion over this in above posts. That is what Gerry Harvey and his mates are complaining about................
from my understanding.
if you owe GST or not is worked out on the cost of the item.
once its decided you're going to pay GST the GST is calculated on the whole cost of the Consignment.
so an $800 item with a $500000000 shipping fee should not attract GST.
a $1500 item with a $500 shipping fee would attract a GST value calculated on $2000.
