    service help please!!!

Hi i have recently purchased a series II landrover discovery V8 2000 model. I am planning to give it an overhaul service for piece of mind.
i have no idea what the recommended oil is for these rigs , so can anyone suggest a good quality oil ?? it has 200,000 ks on clock if that makes any difference in choice?
also what type of coolant do you use in these??? as i plan to flush radiator out aswell.
and finally transmission fluid as i want to replace that also.
Anything else i should do while im going ?
im not doing the work , my mate who is a mechanic is , but i will supply everything for the service.
any help will be greatly appreciated , as im ready to zip down the street and buy what i need.
    thank you
    dan

I use caltex oils in my D1. I just went to the distributor and they rang the hotline and they gave all of the recommended oils that they sell for each application.

If you are partial to another brand of oil they all do the same thing.

Not sure on the exact grades for for each application so I'll leave the specifics to someone who owns a D2, but any auto parts place will have a book to tell you what grades to use in each part of the car aswell.

Do a search under the Discovery 2 area. Fair bit of info there for your vehicle. From memory they don't like to mix colours with regards to coolants and I recall someone else saying similar for the brake fluid.

By the way that is where you should have posted your question so maybe one of the moderators will transfer it for you. Don't repost the same question as the get quite shirty.

    Regards
    Andrew
