    A difficult week...

    Where to start...

Firstly, the infinite patience and calmness of BBlaze, AFTER I did all that work on his Disco, it developed an oil leak. And it wasn't just that it had oil in it, either. Infact after a few hundred KM it was enough to rival an Exxon oil ship disaster. Seems I was a little amiss when fitting new front seal, A genuine item, fitted the same way as countless others, except I had damaged the outside edge very slightly on a minute bit of swarf from when I hooked out the old one... So, another seal, belts and a few litres of degreaser and all was well again BUT I must say, having customers like Rob really, really helps. Seldom a more understanding and commiserating person I am likely to meet. Obviously I was distraught and questioning my very ability to perform a simple task after that disaster, I was very grateful for the 'pep' talk I got from Rob, so, no I am not about to give it away just yet...

Secondly, waiting, waiting, waiting for parts, machinists, Emails, return phone calls you name it, it DIDN"T happen People with vehicles desperatly required, all thankfully finished and out the door on time, but close

Finally, tonight I finished at 6:30, not working tomorrow (It is a PH in south Tass for show day)and really just drained, mentally and physically.

I really enjoy what I do, but sometimes it wears a liitle thin

    Anyway, onward and upwards!!!!

I wish!, Rule Number1, "FINISH the LSE first. If I catch you glancing sideways at that County you'll be sorry"

So, no. Off to visit family etc and have a rest.

The 110 will be commencing as soon as the LSE is regoed, (Not far off now) and then I can take the RR off the road to start the 110. I'll drive the LSE around while that is happening, then it'll be up for sale.

Justin, if it makes you feel any better, I was chatting to a good mate of ours today who is a Mobile Landrover/Range Rover mechanic and he is having similar frustrations waiting for parts etc. Of course, everyone wants their vehicle done straight away.

Glad you have a day off, hope you enjoy the break mate.

    Cheers Erich

when ever I walk into your workshop its like organised chaos, Rovers everywhere but everything is under control, you have a rock solid repuation in Tassie and its well earnt so enjoy a few days off ole mate.

its not only the work you do but running a business, answering calls, drop ins, stupid questions from women with too many dogs in their cars and idle desk jockeys calling in with coffee

see you when you get back

ps. I have seen the 110 and its patiently waiting in the corner of the workshop, will be great to see it done

Enjoy your day off JC, sounds like you have deserved it. So much to do and so little time to do it in, I know the feeling

I have a good news for you, I am flying with Rosa next December so you do not have to work in my Defe and Paul do not have to put up with me

Tomorrow have a good roast and a bottle (or 2) of wine and do not touch nothing in the weekend

We will see you and family soon

I take my Mercedes to a fellow in South Melbourne for mechanical repairs. He is an automotive magician. On this occasion, he has had it for several weeks. He sometimes drives it home in the evening and into work the following morning. (I think one day I might not get it back.) He does this because sometimes a problem won't show itself on a short trip round the block.
The Mercedes is a classic and not a daily drive and I like the way he is meticulous.
Justin, if you were my mechanic with the Landy, I'd be patient. I appreciate a mechanic who does a good job rather than a quick one. I'm sure there are many others out there who think the same as I.

Just a small note: I waited eight years for my series III stage 1 V8 to be rebuilt. Well, it wasn't my daily drive you see.
