This made me laugh - Be nice to your tattooist

Saw this in The Australian, which made me laugh, although I am sure the poor bloke who was the victim wasn't happy. There must be something in the water up in Ipswitch....

Ipswich tattooist charged over 40cm penis tattoo on man's back

A 21-year-old Queensland man has been charged by police in Ipswich for allegedly tattooing a penis on a man's back - instead of the image he had requested.

The 25-year-old victim had been visiting the man, a professional tattooist, at his home in Bundamba last Wednesday when he was talked into getting a tattoo, The Courier-Mail said.

He wanted a yin and yang symbol with some dragons, but was instead shocked to discover the 40cm tattoo was of a penis with an obscene slogan.

The key word in the slogan was also misspelled.

The man now faces considerable cost to have the image removed.

Police said the tattooing followed an argument between the men, during which the professional tattooist allegedly took offence at something the other man said.

The victim has also alleged he was punched and thrown out of the house following the tattooing.

The 21-year-old is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 15 charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one charge relating to the Public Safety Act.

The tattooist has very little defence he can argue.

I can just see the subsequent civil suit against the tattooist after he is convicted. I hope he has public liability insurance? Silly silly boy!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Diana, the tattoist is a 21 y.o. from Bundamba, home of the Walmart people, and hardly one of the high income suburbs of the Brisbane conurbation. Likely he has nothing and 'twould be a waste of time and money suing him. Depending what charges he may be convicted on, there could possibly be some Criminal Compensation from the state government which the gov. pays when the crim has no assets.

I wasn't laughing at the assault - but the idea that someone would take revenge by inking something like that, and what an idiot the tatooist was. I'd say he as all sorts of legal complications coming up in his life.

It's the sort of thing you might dream of doing to a 'client from hell' but never would (well, 99.99% of people never would)....
