Spotted, carved Defender in South Freo

Spotted this carved Series/Defender Landy in a Zambian shop in North Freo.

About 30cm long and 15 cm high. Forgot to ask the price.

These went well until all the mechanics started getting splinters!

But it did cure the rusty firewall & chassis problems..... now they check for white ants!

    It's a great job - fantastic!

And forgot to note where it really was just so we couldn't buy it!

sorry to hijack the thread but, here is a grass woven landy from the side of the road in malawi, watched the guy make it. you could ask him to add things like jerry cans, rear ladders, snorkle, etc. and he would add it while you waited. just using grass from the side of the road, cost about AU$3, he also made beetles and kombis, and in his view a few other good vehicles, tractors, merc trucks, mogs, etc.

When I read the title - I thought you might have been referring to the roofless Olive Drab series LR that I've seen along Hampton Road a couple of times lately - with the tree trunk as a front bumper.
    Cheers .........
