I can vouch for that:twisted:

Merging as told by Vicroads website.
If you cross lane markings, then you must give way. If there are no lane markings, then the vehicle in front has right of way.
In Vic if your lane is the one that runs out but your vehicle is ahead of the one in the continuous lane, the vehicle ahead has right of way. This was a new rule introduced a few years ago.
Dave.
I bought a flashable Defender ECU NNN from a Perth specialist,it had a TRS upgrade. He couldnt get it working correctly and installed a D2 map, supossibly a second level Auto Logic item.
It goes REALLY well and I got my economy and some back.
I have a realy big $1200 ASE intercooler sitting in the shed awaiting me being ablle to find the coin for the rest of the cooling system upgrade:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:
Andrew
I don't insight the stupidity performed by the 'others' but far out!!!! on the way home nearly everyday some tard will force me to accelerate far beyond the speed limit in order to overtake their previously slow car ...freaks!

AS TO ROAD RULES:-
http://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/LZ/...999.219.UN.PDF
This is SA site, but I believe rule is same all over Aus.
Rules 148 & 149 (i think thats them, if not try 158 & 159...sorry )
should have diagrams etc indicating rules for merging.
basically as I understand it:
If you are in left lane as lanes merge, and at the merging point of the lanes there is NO dividing line marked
between those lanes then whoever is in front has right of way (doesnt say by a headlight etc etc its whoever is in front)
But, If you are in left lane as lanes merge, and at the merging point of the lanes there IS dividing lines marked
between those lanes then whoever is in right hand lane has right of way.
fairly straight forward IF everyone involved understands it!
The confusion in SA is because there was a very badly set up ad on tele etc when the 'scissor' rule first came in,
the ad (by govt!) was such that it confused people who previously understood the rule!
Wrong Dave.
Here is a quote from the Vicroads website.
Changing lanes
Whenever you change lanes from one marked lane or line of traffic to another, you must give way to vehicles already in that lane or line of traffic. This includes crossing over any broken line marked on the road which indicates that a lane ends, for example when merging into freeway traffic.
Zip merging
If you are on a road without lines marked and two rows of vehicles merge into one, you must give way to any vehicle which has any part of its vehicle ahead of yours. Note: If you cross any lines marked on the road, then you are not zip merging but changing lanes and you must give way accordingly.
What's been giving me the ****s lately is the idiots who drive right up behind you when you're trying to reverse park  Indicator on early, spot picked, brakelights on, reverse engaged - then some **** drives right up your bum :censored:
In the last month I've had 4 instances of this happening: 2xTerritory's, 1x Tarago & 1x Commodore. Each time I just keep the Defender in reverse and crawl slowly back. I've had horns honked and everything; but just keep on chugging backwards - They soon get the picture :p The steel bar on the back of the Deefer seems to have 'get out of my way' written all over it
I have never failed to park in the spot I picked out
Or people in car parks that just pull up and wait for an empty spot to magically appear. Thats when a lifted Landy with big tyres and bullbar ambling up very close behind them has the same effect as an empty spot appearing on the far side of the carpark :D
