    breaking a toyota halfshaft

this is what happens when you break a halfshaft on a 70 series, this is on a trip my parents did in march in the kalahari (all toyotas sadly, not by their choice, i was on a landy trip around fraser). the toyota that fails belongs to a friend from zimbabwe, he was driving at the time and you can see the gouge from the truck sliding with no wheel attatched. interesting getting it on the towtruck. also looks like the shaft had broken before, and has been repaired, or has developed a crack over a period. some mechanic in zimbabwe probably knows.

All 7x series Landcruisers I have seen have fully floating axles. I don't know what rear axle assembly that would be.

Venezuelan cruisers come factory with Dana 60 35 spline 1.5" rears, they had a factory 1FZ supercharged one at the cliffhanger
