Daihatsu Feroza- what was I thinking??

I just went to the wreckers to buy some minor parts & ended up buying this.

I think I had a mad moment. I thought it would be a great first car for my daughter. Trouble is, she isn't even 15 yet !!

It's in great nick interior & bodywise & only seems to have a noisy tappet,- 185,000 klm on the speedo.
I think the decision stems from a latent desire to own a series 1 Landie & I remember seeing one of these ( well a scat - close) that was sectionalised at a field day & thinking it was a Jap copy of a series 1 - with improvements.

Anybody had any experience with them?? For a grand delivered to home, I thought it worth putting into cold storage.

not a bad little offroader, a bit heavier than the zukes in the same size and can be a bit skittish on the road if you have the wrong tyres/pressure in them But a good little vehicle to learn in. not too much power and plenty of brakes.

Indestructible, it makes a County look like a girly poof, capable of being skull dragged through many a tuff trip and even recover a few Landy's at the same time.

It was registered till Aug 2011, but the plates removed & it was cashed in. I know this wrecker buys vehicles with a view to wrecking them, but will sell vehicles as is, no plates, no warranty.

Great 'lil jigger. My first fourby was a feroza.
    Great first for your daugter!
Spent alot of time up and down NSW coast and did a surf safari across and up as far as Carnarvon - In 4 years all that I had to do mechanically was tighten the fanbelt once and a couple of oil changes...
    Tough reliable good stuff!

I had the diesel model and my then boss's daughter had the petrol. They are like 2.0P-2.2D hilux's,they were very reliable simply because the engines didn't have enough power to break anything. The ride is very choppy and they can't keep up with traffic but for 1K it's a good first car. Pat

Pretty neat little cars, my brother bought one about 8months ago, had a few problems with it but it's all good now, personly i think it has a resonable amount of power, spins the wheels on the tar anyway
