This is probably the best place to post this, rather than in one of the model specific threads.
In years past a collection of Land Rovers was put together in Norway. It would rival the Dunsfold collection. The range of vehicles (around one hundred!) ranges from Series 1s (including a Tickford Station Wagon) to Range Rovers, Forward Controls, a Cuthbertson, and rare military variants - you name it it's probably there.

Look through the gallery to see them as they were. Carefully click on the lower slideshow and it will expand the photos - it's a bit tricky.
The owner was blamed for pushing up the prices of collectable Land Rovers but he apparently had the money and there was always an underbidder on eBay or he paid what a seller wanted.
Well times have apparently changed. Orders were made by the local Council and not complied with, something to do with them being an environmental hazard, probably other financial problems also. Why some were not sold to look after the rest we may never know.
The collection has been forfeited to the council and they are selling them off in early December. While local owners have now apprised them of the importance of these vehicles they were more or less headed for scrap.
Those stored undercover in a warehouse are fairly well preserved but those outside without security have been vandalised by the locals.

clustered around the warehouse complex.
European forums are abuzz with the news.
Take the time to look at what was assembled, what has happened to some of them and let's hope they get disbursed to individuals who will carry through with what was probably the original good intentions of the owner.
It is a great pity that some extremely rare vehicles were left to this end.
As we are not in full possession of the facts here please don't go railing on about the owner - just look at what has gone horribly wrong. It's a reality check to those who see quantity rather than quality.
Acknowledgement to those in Norway and Denmark who have posted the photos. There are others showing even more damage.

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
A little up date
I spoke to Mr Craddock yesterday, and this is whats happening with the collection
You can have alook from next wednesday and purchase any thing you like, dont think you will be getting any bargains, for example the cuthbert as been valued at 35,000 pounds, and the vandalised Tickford at 12,000 pounds, anything thats not gone over the 5 days will be shipped back to the uk,other than low value ones that will be sent to the scrap man over 50 containers have been booked, all will then be valued by the Master of Land rovers, forgot his name, and then offered for sale next year via one of the UK mags.
I looked a the 2b firefly and they want silly money for it.......
Oh I thought that WAS in the UK so he has bought them here!!!!

I could almost murder somebody for an S3 Lightweight.
Never available in ZA. Probably 2 in the country.
I've always wondered if I can take a Series 2 or 3 and fabricate a Lightweight kit. A one-off. Maybe one day.
I'll take the Series on tracks, just because it looks cool. But that is one serious amount of land rovers. I wonder what the job lot cost.
