    NEW TD5

I read that the 3ltr tdci Ford Duratorq used in the Ranger/BT50 is to grow an extra cylinder making it a 3.2 in the all new Ranger due out in the new year.
We have a 3lt auto Ranger at work,it doesnt lack power at all.

Hi Andy! Yes they have some serious poke, don't they?

Pity the chassis aren't up to it

We had all the latest dual cab 4x4 models at work and the ford ranger was the most popular by far.

The ranger racked up a heap more kms than the colorado, hilux, triton or navarra

Most people preferred it because it was that little bit smaller and seemed quicker and easier to drive.

Maybe it was because all the Rangers we had were black for some reason???

    Cheers

We have a fleet of about 20 Rangers at work. All go like stink! A couple of the earlier models (before face lift) had transfer case problems. Apart from that no one can fault them. Before Rangers we had Tritons and Hiluxs. Rangers leave both for dead, although the hilux had more top end once you wound em out.

    Just my 2 cents,
    Tod.

We have them at work also, definitely dont lack power, we get POS auto's though. Have driven a manual and they are so much better.

They also whack a great big heavy prisoner module on ours and then wonder why they roll when driven hard. Problem is that NSWPol whack the pod on and then dont upgrade the suspesion so it wallows and floats like a boat.

Makes for lots of seasick prisoners when you get to the other end?!
