Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Lets not all give up on the Puma just yet - most of you with them would only just be coming up to the 3 year warranty point or have even younger trucks. Many times I have read it said that many LR vehicles need most, if not all, of these 3 years to get fully sorted.
I feel mine is now - and so it should be - I had the first one.
So I reckon we should see how they pan out longer term, and reserve judgement.

I really hope you're right scallops, but it's clear Allianz have not reserved their judgment. They made the decision to no longer back one model out of the several offered from LR; because they find themselves in a position I don't want to find myself in, and that is one of making ongoing payments due to an (in their words) 'unacceptable' quality in a vehicle. Long term for me starts from 6 months onward. After that it is game on if things aren't sorted for good.
Hope that rant didn't come across as preachy.
My D2 was covered by AWN when initially purchased, docs were still in car when I got it some 10 years later. Actually called them to see if there was any major work claimed, and while there was only a towing claim. I inquired about the cover (in case I lost the plot and actually purchased a car from new) it was indicated that if there was any work claimed that warranty on those repairs followed onto subsequent purchasers (similar to the lifetime warranty on smash repairs offered by some insurers). They also indicated (at least at that time) that the warranty could be renewed to a max of 10 years from purchase. Unfortunately the first owner let it lapse... and I got the BHG's and slipped liners.
Not something I asked actually, if it's similar to an appliance extended wty, the optimum part is "extended" or longer than standard so it's added onto the end of the std wty. Of course it could also mean that extended means "more than" so it covers more than the std wty (probably wouldn't be hard) and only during the std wty period.
How is that in any way acceptable??? Why should someone have to buy a vehicle that they know will have to spend 20% of its life at the dealer in the first 3 years???
I am sure the D3/D4 owners experience nothing like that. Same goes for owners of most earlier models of landies (freelanders possibly excluded).
Landrover/Tata is making a killing on discos and rangies. Maybe a class action is the best option. However - are UK statistics the same as AU for the puma, or are the pumas worse???

I am not sure what you mean by "it's perhaps just the way it is with this vehicle type"
I have the full service history for my 1987 110. It never went back for any warranty repairs to my knowledge.
200Tdi defenders on the whole had no inherent faults apart from the LT77s lube issue.
I would suspect that the stats for the puma are worse than for any previous 110 model and worse than any landrover model.
