how does that make you any different from the millions of people worldwide who all think they work for a clown?

I do wave at the various rover owners up here, not too many series vehicles, most deefer owners wave back, about half the disco owners do and generally only one RR owner does..... but he knows me!

I can see how steering a 2A and waving could be confused

I can see how catching falling parts could be mistaken for a wave as well.

At least I try and wave when I recognise another Series or Defender going past, heck I wave at Toyota FJ40s as well. That is when I am not changing gear and hanging on for dear life.

    Talking Waving often!

Ever since reading this thread, I have been waving to all cars in the marque (even RRS).
It only takes a small effort to lift somebody's spirits by being friendly and waving.
I just returned from my local shops and whilst there, I saw a beautiful Defer with SVX number plates and gave a big wave. A big wave and smile was returned and once the Defer was wrestled into a parking space, the driver came over and introduced herself to SWMBO and myself as Gaye.
Lovely to meet you and looking forward to meeting others in our travels.
(The personalised plates will be on the car soon, so it will be easy to spot!)
    Cheers,
    Taxi.

I'm sure I surprised a Defender driver today. I was taking a D2 to Berowra and saw a Defender approaching (somewhere on Pennant Hills Rd if the person is member here). I waved.

    He waved back.

    I'm sure he was shocked.

Since when has it not been a Disco thing.....

Sometimes and only sometimes I may miss fellow Defers cos I'm actually looking at the road or concentrating on something else but as someone earlier said, it cost nothing to wave and is only going to promote a sense of good will

Some people would not give you a wave if they owned the ocean.

Their loss! The one's who annoy me are the people to whom you show courtesy by going out of your way to let them in or go in front or cross in front of you, only to see them just take off without so much as a nod of appreciationi or lift of the finger, let alone wave. Anyway, driving the def tends to make me more relaxed and laid back so I reckon who cares? If they wanna be tools, let em; we'll be cool
