I guess that I posted the thread with the frustration at the moment in see how many reports we have about Qantas by the "news hunters"
Another reason to be thankful that you're flying with Australias national carrier not Indias, Chinas (either of 'em), Indonesias, Turkeys or many others.
Anyway Arthur, flying is probably a lot safer than driving South through all the 'schoolie' traffic.

For some reason 'Air Crash Investigation' always seems to be on the telly just before I fly somewhere... My missus is always hanging it on me a well - asking if my life insurance is paid up...

Reminds me of an event in my last job (ARFF) where we had a group come for a tour/inspection of the fire station. We showed them the obligatory aircraft crash videos etc . There were some very sombre faces amongst them.

It became evident later that management had left out one minor detail - They were fear of flying group trying to overcome that phobia

I've flown just short of 300,000 miles since mid 2007, a combination of business and holiday flights, on quite a few different airlines. One I don't give a second thought to getting on is Qantas.

As Deano says, there is faaaaaaaaaaaar worse. I've had Chinese flights that I would have got off and kissed the tarmac had I not had to disembark down an aerobridge.

I have often travelled this time of the year and had no problems getting on the spirit, I find its if you want a cabin the problems start. I just take a deck chair and sleep on the 8th deck on the benches

My last two flight with QANTAS (Adelaide to Darwin, then Darwin to Adelaide) were two of the best flights I have had in recent years.

Emergency row seats both times, good movies, acceptable meals, no turbulence, great views flying into Darwin...

Couldn't really ask for more from a flight.

Probably shouldn't laugh, but it is a bit funny.... I'm sure they will all eventually see the funny side of it.
