yes every man and his sem to be making them........like caravans, many are brought but sit in the garage never used

i have a hand me down camper trailer, have used it twice this year but still think its under utilised even though my only outlay has ever been rego

There seems to be no shortage of them these days. On our Cape York trip earlier this year, I would guess that every second 4wd we saw had a camper trailer attached.

There are a lot of manufacturers out there now and some are using imported tents. Some of these are good quality and some not. Like most things it's horses for courses.

I would like to add to the statistics........

Can I make a suggestion, camper trailers, going on the equipment I sell, are by far the DIYers favourite tow vehicle.

To this end, could someone post up a poll ( I ask that someone else do it as every time I’ve tried, it stuffed up ).

The poll could have questions like who has one, who is seriously considering, who would like one, who has a caravan, and so on but it would be interesting to see how many members have a van or CT.

Any other suggestions for questions?

On the subject of price.... Be buggered if I can afford a new camper so I am building my own!!!

I've got one. Bought a 12' tent off ebay & a semi off road trailer from a local manufacturer. All for <5k. Used it twice this year but it sure beats a tent & gives me something to modify/improve 2 days before a trip.

Just for the record I have a 2001 O'briens camper (Dandenong Vic). It's tough as nails and has a lot of the bells and whistles like slide out kitchen etc. We got it 2nd hand and still reckon it was a bargain

Just can't justify 'New' equivalent at around $32k
