    That "Old Jeep Thing"

My sister, who lives next door to me, four kilometres away, has been living in town since 1st December as she did not want to be at home with no phone (she is nearly 80, and lives alone with me as the nearest neighbour, and no mobile coverage at the house).

Yesterday, at her request, I went (in the 2a) to her place to meet with the Telstra bloke, and when he was not there, drove out along the road in to see if he was stopped at one of the junction boxes. Sure enough, met him about a kilometre from the house.

After talking to him I turned round and while he was stopped to check the next junction box, called my sister - she said she knew I had met him; he was on the phone to her getting directions and said to her "There's this old Jeep thing coming towards me".

(Phone is now fixed, but she is staying away until Monday - he wanted to know if there was another way out without going across the awful creek crossing; there is, but it is just as bad if not worse!)

so often the series LRs get referred to like that...

when we recently arrived home with a 2a gs on a trailer, a neighbour asked if we'd got another "army jeep" to restore

...don't know whether to humour them in their ignorance or try to politely educate them

"humour them in their ignorance" unless they appear genuinely interested.

Shortly after I got the MY10 Puma I was parked on a beach for photos and a guy walking past said "How do you like the Jeep mate?". I said "good mate, good" and he kept walking.

Dont worry, as owning a Jeep and a Landy I have often been asked is that a Defender or something. Just be happy they dont refer to it as a Cruiser or Patrol or worse Hummer
