I can understad that Victorians have very little to live for and so substitute reality with Gay FL - 5,000 go to watch the team train??????????? - please!

But now we have foistered on us teams from other states and now an expanded competition into Western Sydney.

If this is some vain attempt to get the population out there to discard their flanny shirts and Megadeath black Tee-shirts in favour of a new Gay FL sleevless shirt - very practical on a fraotsy morning in Mt Druitt - then good luck to them.

I think having a 17 year old girl as the new pin-up promo photo manager for the Gay FL is also working very well with world-wide coverage for the code.

Anyway we can be thankful that we have another month or two without the prospect of Sam Newman and Co showing their wobbly bits on TV - and lets be thankful for that.

Just a bunch of over-paid, prima donna wanna be's. The amount of these people that actually contribute something useful to society is a VERY small minority.

AND the fact that the tv stations decide to broadcast this stupid game on 3 channels at once, and bump the V8's to 11pm just gets on my goat.

    Ok. I am done.

    Please resume normal conversation.

Weeds as you and I know, it is a special taste not bestowed on everyone although some do come to the higher realisation as they mature like a fine red.

Whilst I can not condone it, I can understand the jealousy that arises from the AFL getting more people to 1 game at the G than the combines attendances of the NRL in any given week. This is hardly surprising given one game is played by men's men and the other is played by men who appear to gain great enjoyment from putting their heads between other mens legs.

Personally I will go for the wayward young woman than John Hopoate and his digital representation of the code...yuk, yuk, yuk

Obviously this is a discussion which has and will rage for eternity...it is just lucky weed, that we know that we are on the right side.

Anyway, can't stay and chat, got some editing to do on a photo of a bloke and his dog.

P.S. Watch out for the Mighty Tigers next season!!! Yellow and Black.

the game they play in heaven

Merry Xmas, everyone, I feel I must bring some commonsense to this discussion. There is a place for all codes of " football" in our country , here is why....... Start children with " soccer', let them learn coordination, kicking with both feet, spacial awareness over the entire field, let them play A.F.L. to to teach them to kick the oval ball, to catch the oval ball, and to develop fantastic aerobic fitness. Then, let them play N.R.L to toughen them up, teach them to defend, and after all this, let them play the game they play in Heaven, Rugby!!!. After all, there are only two football games on Earth that can be truly called international , one, "soccer", will never be beaten in that regard, the other two are just great pretenders. With all due respect to N.R.L. & A.F.L., until they play a South African or New Zealand or Welsh or English or Scottish or Samoan or Fijian or Tongan or Japanese or......... I think you get my drift! Having said that, I enjoy all codes in our country, magnificent athletes all , as long as they understand are doing an apprenticeship before playing the game they play in Heaven. Bob. GO THE REDS!!!!!

Not my sport but then again Im not so much into ball sports of any kind. I do tune into the world cup soccer when its on. The rest of the time is petrol fumes all the way. However I wont bag the sport because if we all liked the same sport it would be a boring world to live in. I get sick of the broken record comments people make about V8's so im not about to bag the sport that someone else loves. Besides, i dont think its right of me to bag a sport that I dont understand. Just the same as people say that motor sport is just cars going around, there is alot more to any sport than meets the eye.

    understandig

Ace, most criticism's of sport comes from not understanding. It is easy to critisise motor sports if you have no understanding of the engineering, and driving skills involved. Each football code has rusted on supporters who have no understanding of the finer points of other codes. It is a big world, there is room for all, and I would suggest having a V8 driver taking a football team in the bus to a match would be very interesting. Bob.

I was actually referring to possible supporters from other codes.

A mature footballer from any code is a rare commidity in deed.
