Never really gotten into the wrestling. Stacey is right into it. I know a few of the names but never heard of this guy, but its never good to hear that someone has passed away.
For those of us who got a laugh from the TV presentation of WWF in the 60's-70s, some sad news. King Curtis Iaukea dead at 73

I never saw him as a wrestler, as I missed out on that early era, but remember him as a manager, and he was always one of the funniest and most charismatic wrestling managers of the 80s era.

for those that missed that era. Curtis, Mario Milano,Brute Bernard, The Missing link, The Von Steiger Bros,Killer Karl Cox, Killer Kawolski.Tojo etc etc, they were some of the greatest Wrestlers of all time ( Actors) their stunts looked more real than todays actors that try to imitate their atomic drops, sleeper holds ect Reflecting back now as a kid in the 60s, it looked so real, and those scars were bona fide real
sorry to hear of the loss...

Hi all
I grew up with all those names in the 60s, my grandmother was a big fan and she got so excite when it was on, but when you told her they were all acting you would get a good clip around the ears, but it was all good tv fun in them days and all in black and white...

My dad took my mum once night to festival hall.
My mother was shocked, she could not believe that people were allowed to beat each other up like that. She got very vocal thinking it was real and asked why no one wasn't stopping it.
Dad then told her it was only acting. She was very embarrassed after that.![]()
I remember as a kid running to get home in time for 12 mid day on Saturdays to watch these guys. Skull Murphuy, Tex McKenzie, Mark Leuwin, Professer Tanaka, Waldo Von Erich to add to the above names. Can't be bothered with it now though, it's crap, but back then .....
