haha some of these posts make me laugh....
clearly some people have no idea of the size of Australia
no idea of what it takes to dig a trench that will flow water....of ANY size
no idea of evaperation
no idea of how the "lie of the land" works
and must have bloody Huge pockets
I dont care whether you believe in God or creation.....but there is a reason mother nature is the way it is. When will man put his ego aside and stop trying to "man handle" it (and never win)....but rather adapt to it and work with it.....alot of peoples mind set are stuck in the 18thcentry europoien way of doing things (with regards to the land and living off it)
Regarding the old Qld'rs....they do have their advantages and disadvangtes....not to many roof's stay on in a true cyclone....trust me 1 3 inch nail at each rafter/roof battern connection point isnt enough....and the old roofing nails have a habbit of de nailing themselves under the harmonics of the sheet due to wind pressure
there are plenty of new Qld'rs being built in the Gold Coast, Beaudesert, brisbane region that dont cost and arm and a leg
