    Unhappy Missing the Isuzu

    Booo Hooo!

Even though the LSE has been wonderful to drive, getting around 10l/100 today after 300km to Coles bay and back, it isn't a patch on the Isuzu for hill climbing

The 110 will be such a joy to drive,, I can almost taste it

Apart from the transfer intermediate shaft oil leak, the LSE is going beautifully 300Tdi's are a great engine for these, makes them economical enough to own

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

JC, sounds like a sales pitch to me!!!!

I personally find the LSE you have a tad over priced, having had one and sold it, I found when speaking to potential buyers they all wanted the V8 and definately not a diesel.

I personally find the 300tdi a great motor, gutless sure but reliable and just enough poke to not get fed up with it.
Put it in the top of range LSE and perhaps too rattly, I don't know.
    Just putting it out there.
Another mate has a 3.6 I suzu in his rangie and crikey, sure it goes well enough ut the noise just does not do the car any justice.
Your engine swap makes much more sense for someone looking for that sort of set up and than has the money to pay for it.
Which they would have to anyhow if they did it themselfes but no one takes that properly into account.

Good luck with it, I send it on to 2 potential interested parties ut no luck so far.

    Happy new year mate.

I see where you are coming from there BG, but it is surprisingly quiet on the road, a minor fuel timing / tweak etc and it is really not much slower than a V8 on the flat, and indeed on hills the V8 in lockup will drop very quickly unless you sink the boot in, then you are back to horrendous consumption. I towed the camper out here up and down all these east coast hills, did it easily albeit slower than the Isuzu, but wasn't that disappointing. at 13K it'll have completely regassed and working A/C, new rooflining, perfectly reliable and economical engine and trans, (LT 230 TF case oil leak will be gone) ,fitted and transport approved, working ABS and TC, excellent paintwork, near new Savero tyres, working alarm and centrl lock, Leak free and tight power steering, excellent shocks and coils, a rusty upper tailgate and some minor interior blemishes which really show it is STILL a 1993 vehicle. The fact is, I am quite happy to sell it to someone for that amount, as I am quite happy to have done the conversion and if I didn't want to look at using the $ elsewhere, I'd be keeping it And thanks for forwarding the details, and yes it is really aimed at people who are interested in Diesel RRC's, because if someoen were to PAY someone to do this, including the donor parts etc etc it'll be not much change out of $20K...

Sorry about the sales pitch, too. It wasn't meant to sound like that, I was just saying that the Isuzu was a hill killer, whereas the Tdi is a great engiine but just doesn't cut it on steep long hills, and I kind of like grunting up long steep hills at 2000rpm, towing. and pushing toyotas in front of me...

I really like the LSE RRC and if I didn't have the L322 I would seriously look at it,I actually like the RRC's more than the later models as they are every bit a classic milestone vehicle with timeless lines. Pat

I'm hearing you Pat. I am SORELY tempted to remove the add, but I DO need to be sensible... And after the Sherwood is resurrected and put up for sale, then i'll have no classic RR's AT ALL

Meanwhile, I am enjoying it immensely.

Also like driving L322's, have a few customers with them, Td6 and V8's. Nice interior as well, makes the Sahara Toymotas etc look like 1988 Hyundai excels inside.
