    Unexpected visitors

Guess what woke us up this morning. We heard the roar of the gas burner and looked out of our bedroom window .....

There were a group of 10 Indian people enjoying an early morning balloon flight when the wind died down and they were forced to land in our front paddock.

There was much chattering and laughing as they helped the balloon operator pack up while they waited for the pick up vehicle.

Never been in a balloon, not sure if I like being at the mercy of the wind?

Glad they were all O.K though.

Did you make them coffee and tell them how happy you are they bought Land Rover.

I haven't either, but I am not good with heights.

I think they only fly them when there isn't too much wind.

You should have chaged them an arrival fee.

Indeed!!! It costs $75 each time one of our aircraft land at Alice Springs.
Just for using a few hundred metres of bitumen.

Lets see, Private property, environmental levy, surprise levy, entry and exit taxes, visitors levy .x 10 people oh plus the ground crew would need permits and hmm.............. $1000 sounds fair

    cheers
