There was a nice, basic setup in the Tron Legacy.

I was quoted $2000 for a watertight 20ft one, or $500 for swiss cheese.

I was thinking of buying ten and burying them Weapons and cars in three, hootch and quarters in the others

We'd only need to go to town about twice a year

    this one is way cool

I would STRONGLY recommend a new conatiner as 2nd hand ones will have been treated many times with highly toxic chemicals that can really **** you up !

It may have already been covered in the links posted, but pretty sure I've read somewhere about the plywood floors having some pretty nasty chemicals to stop rot and vermin damage. Could be old info and not applicable nowadays but worth checking out if you're going to be living in them.

Price would be relative to your area, supply, condition etc....the $3,000 to $4,000 I quoted was for 40ft containers in very good condition and included on site delivery costs. Due to being in a cyclone area every building here needs to be built to cyclone specifications and that inflates the cost dramatically (again, most shires have their own version of specifications).

The last 20ft container I purchased (for govt) was $2,500 and the 40ft one cost $3,700, on site.....both very good condition, water tight etc. Freight is variable due to our location and availability. The cost of building alternative storage facilities (sheds etc) far exceeded the cost of the containers due to the specifications required and of course labour costs for the required building time. It's all relative. A bonus with containers is the instant availability of use.

I could well imagine that if it was to be utilised as an abode, or even as a shed/garage setup open to viewing from the street in a suburb type situation then certainly you could expect some obstacles from Shire councils dependent upon your location.

First and foremost, what a great model railway layout I could have set up in one of those and if I ever need to move, no cutting up and reassembling, just lift and move.

Keep the info coming, I’m hooked ( don’t know about the wife though! )
    Drivesafe,

I think a bloke in belgium set "his wife" up in something similar and it didnt go down all that well... I suggest you just look at setting up the railway!!!!

Yeh, I will in the next few days.
As for pricing a shed, already started and yes, most are in the price range expected. Trouble is I can only spend money on a shed with whats left over from bathroom reno. Probably end up with a carport!

we stayed in a caravan park, stuffed if i can remember where it was, but they had onsite cabins constructed out of them. Very comfortable and well put together I thought.

If you are still lookin JC, these are really nice.

Saw them at an ag show a couple of years ago.

For the size of them they are well equiped, even have a washing machine in the bathroom.

Price was around $35K fully insulated and fitted out.
