Guys, come on.
When I was there in 2008 the fuel price was still less than that in the UK! Further, given the sheer remoteness of the place, so what if the fuel is the most expensive in Oz, somewhere has to be.
For the amount of times we all use that road, and the hassle it will cause by not having a reliable stop along it, I'd happily pay double their prices to subsidize it for everyone to use. Granted that would be a pain in the preverbial for locals, but are there any of those out there?
If this roadhouse has effectively been forced to close then that's a crying shame. Let's hope Australia doesn't jump on that same slippery slope the uk did a few years back... Cos look where they are now... Shafted and on there ar•e.
