There is a dedicated Ducati forum but I cant recall what its called, let google be your friend
Am going to be getting my motorbike L's and get a Ducati 400, 600 or 620 all of which are learner approved.
What are the better motorbike forums in Aus to read more 'facts' about these bikes?

Get the 620....you will regret anything smaller. A 620 with LAMS still fetches good prices, but worth it. Getting harder to find, and the smallest Ducati produces now is a 696 I think.
Yeah I'm 6'3" so the bigger bike will suit and not kill my back.
So what about those forums as I know didly about bikes.....checks etc.
Unless they are Ducati specific...you will get flamed by all the nippon brigade. From what I can find, there are no Aussie Ducati forums...they are all OS. However, have a look here...
Ducati Owners Club of NSW Inc
and it may be worthwhile going to a meeting if you have your heart set on a duke. I liken them to Landy's in that regard...quirky, not everyone likes them, and those that don't have no taste.
Here's a good example...

It has the dual front disc, so it is 6 speed. The single front disc is 5 speed. Aftermarket termis...![]()
Believe it or not a 2009 + model Hyosung 650 water cooled V-Twin would be a far better buy all round then a Ducati 620 if you want reliable transport and they are one hell of a lot faster and more fun to ride.
At the risk of offending or starting a war with any Ducati owners on the site, they are over rated and extremely expensive for what you get.
If your hell bent on a Duke then the 620 would be the pick of a ordinay bunch and be prepared for a very slow bike. I would say though that Ductai owners and Land Rover owners have at least one thing in common they are both usually fanatical about their brands.
Give me a call if you want to chat about the different brands.

Also depends what style of bike you like and what you are planning to use it for. Naked -v- cruiser -v- sports -v- tourer. A Sunday ride only ala cruiser? A commuter? Cruisers as a commuter in traffic aren't fun. If you have a bad back, sports bikes could be a problem. A more upright position can be found on a tourer, but you a very limited as far as LAMs tourers are concerned, although Honda do have one. Crossover bikes like the BMW F650 if you want to get on the tracks but still have a "road" bike as opposed to a regoed trail bike.
Hyos.......run away....good exercise though, as you will spend a lot of time pushing it.Parts are a problem too. And that is from my local Hyo dealer
The 620 slow? I'd say 150kph would be sufficient for a learner lol and I'm bigger than Caine.
Have you seen the LAMs list from the RTA?

The good thing is anything made before 1960 is legal, so an old HD shovelhead might do
Once you get your L's, I can point you to a place at Homebush where the MOST course is set up and you can practice cone weaves etc. You will probably do your L's/P's at HART St. Ives as you are on the northern beaches.
