    That reminds me.....

Folks - back home now - much to do....place took a hammering with storms etc. I want to do a post later full of pics - found a sweet S1 during my travels, but more on that later....

This morning, I was reminded again of the great people here in AULRO land....I went to take Matilda out for a maintenance drive; turned the key, hit the starter button - wouldn't fire. Realized I wasn't hearing the fuel pump priming.

Long story short - rang Blknight.aus, and his instruction got me going!

Again - without this forum and the great folks on it, I'd be stuffed!

Matilda is going great! So much fun to drive! She's back in my shed safe and sound again....

It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    G'day Scallops

Happy New Year I bet it has a SU pump, and the points were sticking, very common with SU type pumps, just try a light tap on the cover next time, had that problem with a morris minor 1000 very regularly, one or two taps and tic, tic, tic and that's a real nice 80"

    cheers

    Hey Uncle,

Same advice as Dave - but I didn't quite get to that step - with the ignition on, the multimeter, when connected to the cranker and the (single) fuse terminal, seemed to fire the fuel pump. So back in the driver's seat - hit the starter - fired as normal.

Or, when you're next in a tinkering mood, adjust the diaphragm by half a turn or so.

    Incontenance can be excused.
Yes, it is a very nice S1. It has been discussed and admired way down south.
