Hi Stoner.
"Search" is you friend.... Just don't type "ECU", use the likes of "ECU upgrade" or "ECU chipping"
There is plenty of ready to be done here and I think just about every question has an answer here.

G'day
Not sure if this has been discussed before or not but I'm thinking about getting an ECU upgrade to my Disco Td5 and was wondering if anybody has any thoughts on it, good bad or indifferent Is it worth the money etc.?
Look forward to hearing peoples opinions and verdicts.
Cheers
Stoner

The search function is pretty useful, actually. You can get the answer you were looking for, as well as a whole heap of new ones you didnt even know you could ask.
Google as well, lots of other people in the world.
Dont worry about being a noob, Im one and I dont care and so are a whole heap of others.
The short answer to yr question is Yes.
The long answer is yyyeeeeeeesss.
Your car came from the factory with 101 kw, and its tuned extremely mildly to say the least. But the TD5 is a superb, reliable, and highly tuneable engine. I run a fairly mild 125kw, which is common, others run 165 KW with no problems but a few mods. It remains extremely reliable, and fuel consumption can actually improve, unless you drive it like a lunatic which is what I try and do.
Ive even heard of a 200kw chip which require a lot of mods and a certain attitude.
There are lots of places that can do it, but NEVER go anywhere except a land rover specialist to have it done. In fact, never go anywhere to have anything done to yr car except a LR specialist, ie NOT a dealer. NEVER take yr car to a Land rover dealer or a non-landrover mechanic. Unfair to some, I know, but a good rule of thumb. Again, a search on here may help you find a reliable place in Perth.
Probably the best place to get one, though, is right here on AULRO. Tombie is a supplier of lots of fun things and can do a replacement chip with a variety of upgrades.
He did mine, and I hereby attest he's a great bloke to deal with, his tuning is great and a better price as well. Im a fan from experience.
As well as a chip, there are other things to think about to get better bang for your buck. Search around this site, online as well. A bigger intercooler allows much cooler (therefore more dense, therefore more energy) air into yr cylinders, silicone intercooler hoses wont collapse under pressure, a ceramic coated manifold, tuned exhaust, heck even a flash turbo can all pretty much be bolted on.
But beware. It all seems innocent now, but a chip upgrade is the start of a long, fun and sometimes expensive road of doing up your disco in all sorts of ways that are immensely satisfying.
Enjoy
