Hi folks, I just picked up this site from the TramsDownUnder forum.
There is a huge repository of historical photographs of Queensland.
Enjoy!

Damn good sites, wasted a couple of hours looking through them.
Little known but might help anyone doing family history. The Qld State Library has the photo archives of the long defunct 'Queenslander" magazine. This mag tried to obtain and publish a photo of all Queensland recruits in WW1. So a photo of an ancestor may just be there.

That pic of the outhouses at Norman Park, I would have thought it would have been the bottom end of Ferguson Rd looking towards D'arcy Rd as the D'arcy Rd end was only single row as the hill backed up onto Majestic Outlook, what's your take on the pic,or is it Agnew St looking towards Severn Hills. Also the F4U1 Corsair on "River Rd" pre Kingsford-Smith Dr days, it would probably be taken to a holding area ready for dumping as it was off a british ship "Lend Lease" and most of those ended up off Moreton Is or the Barwon Banksknew the old Ascot Doomben/Oriel Rd tram route well,we built at D'arcy Rd Norman Park for that reason, as mum's parents lived at Napier St Ascot, and it was one tram ride from them to home,my first memories of 6x6 GMC's and BIG BLACK yanks was through the windows/out the side of a "Drop Centre" tram going down Racecourse Rd or along River Rd"seeing them with their foot on the mudguard and the driver on the "wrong"side
cheers
