Taking the wife back to the "mother country"
G'Day All,
Its been ages since Ive dropped in, so I hope I find everybody well
.
As above Im taking Marie back to England for about 2-3weeks to catch up with her family before anymore drop of the peirch.
Marie's uncle is involved in a Classic Yank car club based in Colchester and they will be having a rally in Sept at Brooklends (from Memory), thats sounds like an excuse to go over then.
Can anybody tell us if that is a good time to go over as Im also a very keen collector of anything Firefighting related, so Im hoping to get to as many swap meets, markets, garage sales, Antique fairs as I can while there, so Im not really sure when would be the best time to head over.
Of course December would be no good but any tips or ideas what to see would be great thanks.
We also have friends at Bexhill on Sea, and plan to head to see the Royal War Musuem (no idea where it is yet) and the WW2 War ops rooms beneth London. So Im interested in anything to do with Firefighting and War History, but no interested in anything to do with the royals.....
Thankyou for any help
Regards & Thanks
Andrew Shaw

garage sales don't really exist there. Instead they hav car boot sales. Much better for you, as the large ones are like having entire neighbourhoods worth of garage sales. They're popular over summer. From memory, most of the large organised ones generally run May to September depending on the prevailing weather of course.
Check out the website for Brooklands, they probably have an events page with all the swapmeets etc. Ditto any car clubs (I don't know the subject, but I have no doubt Google can help. I recommend using Google to get accurate U.K. results)
