We ship aircraft and helicopter engines to and from the USA and even the ones straight out of overhaul are considered dangerous goods because they ran once with fuel / oil in them.

There are different categories of dangerous goods and teh mis will probably cover it, its a whole lot better to take a short while a cost to get it in to this category than get it bounced / rejected and all sort of hassel

I dont know if USPS have ability to do this, we use DHL for shipping our engines in proper metal (usually) shipping crates

if they use a wooden box, its possible that might not be allowed in to AUS either unless it is stamped with the required markings saying its treated specifically - I don't know much about that
Use USPS Priority International. A complete 100cc saw will cost about US$120-150

do ask them to clean it but it doesnt have to be spotless, make sure they have dumped fuel mix and bar oil. Ask them not to send in any used produce box.

good luck with the rebuild.

what Mac is it?
PM700 (70cc).
I put it on a shelf 3 years ago - after buying 2 Huskies- deciding the Mac was going to shake out my teeth fillings before it dies.
Started first pull of the rope - so much for fuel going off
I found a parts manual - 1976 model- make that a series 3 rebuild- but no need to touch the motor..
