Anybody freighted a chainsaw from America?

I am going to refurbish my "old faithfull" McCulloch chainsaw & I see there are a number of secondhand ones from Ebay shops at the right price ($50.00) in USA & Canada
My engine is A1 - its just shaken most of the body bits - including most of the muffler off, so mechanical condition is'nt important. I just need the body parts.
What kind of freight bill could I expect & would Fedex be the go?

Fedex is not the go. Very, very expensive. Explore the USPS web site (the post office).

USPS have pre paid boxes that are a certain size and can be packed with up to a certain weight. It's how Lucky8 ship a lot of their bits to keep costs down.

I'd say about US$150. I bought a new jonsered saw and from memory that was the cost of shipping it out from the US.

    Thanks guys.
A complete saw was the cheapest option. The parts I need are available- but at three times the price..
I might check it out with customs.

    Thanks,
    David

Just get the seller to give the saw a good clean. Soil and timber are concerns but it is not as though there are many places that cannot be cleaned on a saw.

I thought I could get around that one by going to the other side of the log
