thing is, you won't find out about his future deployment(s) until well after the fact... unless he is on tour somewhere and decides to destroy some poor rugby clubs entire front row
Saw a pic on SMH.com.au of him as a school boy in his rugby kit... he was massive even as a kid!
But rest assured, he will deploy again you can bank on that.

The wiki entry makes good reading dosnt it

just asked a good source the question about deployments

donaldson has indeed been deployed since receiving his.......they can no longer do the behind the enemies lines stuff as they have been identified as SASR troppers i.e. no more under cover stuff either

    learn something new everyday

I am amazed that you see pictures in public of your SAS troops. In the UK you only see a shadow of the soldier(s). Even after they have left the SAS they are not identified in public.

I think our government wants to get something out of publicising it. If there were soldiers from other units to use as such fine examples of soldiers they probably would use them instead. However our most decorated are from the SASR, so they publicise them as positive role models for soldiers and Australians in general. The Medal for Gallantry was kept quiet, and he was known as LCpl R, and his Wikipedia page was only started yesterday, but is quite detailed.

Did you see him being interviewed. He seemed to be embarrassed by the publicity. Humility of a true hero. Said he only told his wife what happened last week. Tried to downplay everything because (when he broke cover and charged) he only thought there was one machinegun.

after all.......he now holds the highest rank in the defence force, i wonder if there mates will salute them
They aren't the highest rank, but are payed respect in the way of a salute due to the medal that is why you see the CA (chief of army) salute him, and that goes for the rest of the army they would salute a VC.
