Offer of TV for GENUINE flood victims only

Moderators this is not really suitable for the marketplace, I thought more people might see it here. Please read before moving this post. Thanks.

If anyone on this forum is uninsured and has been hit badly by the flooding or knows of anyone who has lost everything, I have, to give away, a 51cm flatscreen Sony TV (flatscreen but not LCD) with remote in perfect working order, TV picks up radio stations as well, plus a timber TV unit, only a small one but in good condition, TV and unit are about 5 years old. We have upgraded and this one is just sitting there.

I live at Morayfield and would be happy to deliver to the local area, alternatively I work in Fortitude Valley and would gladly drop it off anywhere in between or you can collect it from either location. Can deliver to anywhere if assistance is given with fuel costs (please understand that a series 3 is a thirsty beast and while I did not get flooded, I still have bills to pay too).

Might just be what you or someone else needs to get back in touch with the world. This is for genuine flood victims only, so opportunists and freeloaders please do not bother (I'm sure there are none of those sorts of people on here, or at least I hope not).

PM me or shoot an email to pfillery@yahoo.com.au I would rather it goes to someone who really needs it and will appreciate it rather than to the local lifeline shop where they will just sell it.

Nice work mate. That's very generous of you.

I have a few bits of furniture and electric items that I would glady give away also, but being in Melbourne makes it pretty ineffective.

I hope someone can make use of your offer.

    Hey pfillery, that's awesome.
    Just sent you an email.
I've got a few friends and clients whose houses went completely under. A few of them lost the lot, some aren't being covered by insurance.
If anyone reading this, has old bookcases, beds, desks, lounges, TV's, please let me know, or post here.

I have a 54cm TV to donate too. Matt - I'm happy to pass it onto you directly to distribute.

We have a few bits and pieces as well I can donate, TV, full lounge setting (3 seater and 2 singles) mattress (bought new in July 09) all in good condition, getting them up there may be a challenge though, but they are here if anyone needs them.

Should we start a thread with a list of who has what to offer and possibly find someone travelling north (vic/syd/bris truck driver?) to pickup from a central drop off location and deliver? I have a couple of things I put in as well.

That would be a good idea, I have 3 tv's, set top box, lounge, book case and I could even scrape up a complete PC with a 17" LCD (nothing flash but very useable). Along with other household items

Just gota get it to where its needed

I'm currently in the process of fielding phone calls from some parents of some of the kids that Alex is friends with from kindy and swimming lessons. (as well as from the people that I was helping previously)

some of them are not doing well.

I'm trying to work out what people need and hope to be able to do an aussie day run around to grab and distribute stuff to them.

If you're happy for me to take it out to the karalee area let me know and I'll try to arrange a run for tomorrow.
