    Any Lightforce Gurus out there?

After hitting a piece of plywood this afternoon at 100 Km/H as it came up off the road after a Hiace van ran over it, my Rallye 2000s are no more As I pulled over to check the damage I noted a bloke with a forester towing an overloaded trailer of 4x2s and some sheets of ply on top playing with a tie down strap on his unrestrained load down a side road. "That wasnt your sheet of ply I hit back there was it mate" "Nope mine are all still here" Yeah Right.........
Anyway, to the point of my question. What is the difference between the 240 Blitz lights and the 240 XGT? I'm looking at halogen in either and can't see any advantages/disadvantages between them. Does anyone know what the functional differences are?

    Regards,
    Tote

I am no expert but clearly the mounting and dimensions are different and the XGT is heavier (about 20%) than the Blitz. As far as I am aware, the light outputs are the same, though the reflectors may not be identical. I have found the Lightforce people quite helpful when I have sent an email enquiry. You can get the address from their website (Lightforce - Home).

Hi tote, both have the same output, main difference is that the XGT is built on the HID platform, so the housing is different. I sell both, the prices (for you)are outlined below, there is a difference or around $100:

240 Blitz twin pack, does not include wiring loom- $399
240 XGT single unit only- $260 each (provided you buy two)

Personally I think the Blitz lights are better value for money, both lights have 100w Xenophot globes.

Lightforce now do the 140 Lance, 170 Striker and 240 Blitz in HID versions

    140mm HID- $750 (pair)
    170mm HID- $780 (pair)
    240mm HID- $820 (pair)

the HID's are 35W 5000K HID globes with remote ballast.

Alternatively there is now the Lightforce Genesis lights which are 210mm in diameter, also a very good light. They have a HB3 100W Halogen globe and are $240 each, or the HID version is $589 each.

Add $10 freight, for the whole order.

I should also add that if you buy the standard lightforce lights now you can buy a genuine HID upgrade for each light for $209 each light. Works out slightly more expensive doing it that way as opposed to buying them HID straight up but its an option.

You can get the chinese upgrades on ebay cheaper but not sure how the quality compares.

You can get the upgrades in 3200k Ion Yellow, 4200k Natural White or 5000k Super White, all are 35W globes.
