Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would post here.
Anyone having trouble getting onto Tim? Have emailed, pm'd, can't get through on the phone, just wondering if he got my emails and pm's and package I sent Him. No rush, just want to touch base.

Hi Folks and my sincere apologies for the poor communications but the last 3 months have been an absolute hell.

To start off, in November, I received notication that the microprocessors I use have reached their End-Of-Life and would not be available from May this year.

Normally there is a 2 year notification on a Micro’s EOL pending, but now it is just 6 months notification.

Fortunately I was already using another micro of the same family, for a different project. But the alternative micro is slightly larger.

This all meant that I had to rewrite the operating program to suit the new larger IC and had to redesign the PCB to handle all the charges.

I also assemble and test AC safety products for a company I have been dealing with for about a decade now.

They had been developing a new larger version of there product and sent me a prototype to test.

While it still added the advanced level of safety, it had a major operational problem that made it Not it For Purpose.

I was asked to see if I could resolve the problem as I was in a better position to be able to test it in a real world situation, which is where the original problem only appeared.

This company had done us a lot of BIG favours over the years so it was nice to be able to return the favour.

I managed to resolve the problem by completely redesigning the product and only yesterday did I get a production prototype finished and tested.

To make matters worse, this is always a busiest time of year and this year it has been even busier because of the video I made, of the L322 kit. I have been swamped with orders from overseas.

The first issue has been kicked down the road by me buying a very large quantity of the soon to be no long available micros and the second issue now only requires finalising the production PCBs.

The advance purchase of the ICs has paid dividend already as I buy US chips through a US company with a Hong Kong office. This is not going to be available for a while I suspect.

I have all my PCBs manufactured here in Australia so hopefully there will not be a problem there.

Anyway folks, while I am truely sorry for any inconvenience caused by these delays, as a two man band ( wife and I ) I hope to catch up with orders ( only a couple outstanding now ) and then I will address all the E-mails and PMs. There are a couple of repairs pending as well, and these will also be fixed in the next week.

At that time, I will be in need of a holiday.

I would just like to know if you received my package and emails/pm regarding it? Just want to know that it arrived is all.

    Cheers Damien

Tim hope you have recovered from the flu by now. Still just wondering if my controllers had made it to you or not?
    Cheers.

Hi folks and sorry but I deliberately went off grid for a few days to catch up with all the orders.

All bar three have been sent ( via express post ) and the last three will be shipped on Monday.

Vern, I have your repair, and a number others and they too will finally be shipped early next week.

Again, sorry for the delay but we are finally back to full business.

BTW, I did plan to have a short holiday once everything was caught up, but who could have foreseen what is now happening.

    No holiday for now.

    Good to hear.
    Some businesses are doing well.
Talked to one bloke in agricultural supplies today, while organising a delivery of chicken food to our home, who said he is absolutely flat out fulfilling orders.
Home delivery has exploded as people stay home and order online.
