Even if you don't build it yourself you are able to get a far cheaper computer from an actual computer store as opposed to Hardly Normals. I cant recommend a shop in Brisbane but in Perth either Austin Computers, PLE or Netplus Micro computers would be able to give you a reasonable box at a very good price, already assembled and with a warranty.

The Mac iBook is around that price. Great computer, and with software included. Then again I have been using Macs since 1987.

    Cheers,

PC Shops only charge around $70 to put a pc together from your bought parts.

It not complex at all, you don't need to solder parts it all plug and play.

The only tool you need is a Phillips head driver.

Definitely talk to Inc, you'll get more bang for your buck and will only pay for something designed especially to meet your needs as opposed to paying for a mass produced generic unit that is designed to suit the average mum and dad with 2.5 kids

Buy from your LOCAL PC shop,,

For a 1st PC its the best way.
You get one hand built to your price/specs and talk to the guy that built it. All your warranty stuff is handled by a person you know.

there are lots of PC's for sale at less than 1 grand,,
but a serious gaming machine will cost you at least twice that,,
but your first one should be more fun than frowns
