    Land Rover model codes

    Hi guys,

When browsing through lists of spares, reference is made to codes that i have no idea about, or where to find them.

Examples of the codes that i am referring to:
    JA018109

    JA034313

    KA034313 to LA081991

    MA081992

    I have a '96 Discovery 1 V8i.

    Thanks Shaun

As far as I know the letters refer to the "back end" of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Land Rover VIN Checker Land Rover One Ten: Land Rover One Ten Blog

The first two letters are the year of build and the country of build. For example M =1995 and A is built in Solihull.

I was often asked by a parts supplier if my Disco was a "MA on" model ie 1995 or later to distinguish it from the earlier variant.

    Thanks one_iota,

Interesting the last section of my D1 begins with TA...
Not sure where that fits into the scheme of things.

    Thanks

    Hi Disco1

TA = 1996 model year, that is after MA = 1995 model year.

    Cheers Arthur

You need to scroll a long way down the list in that link to get to the Build Year section. T is 1996 (strangely enough )

Put your entire VIN into the Clifton link Vlad posted above and all will be revealed.
