same happened to ours the plastic taste does go after a few tanks...ours did. we did the same used the water to wash dishes and give the dogs water when out...but no problem using it now. I think its just a new thing
I have just installed a Frontrunner 40l water tank in the LR Quarter panel, and used it for the first time this weekend. The water tasted of plastic. How do I go about getting rid of the taste? I thought it would be fine, as the tank did not smell of plastic when I installed it. Oh well had plenty of washing up water!!
Thanks,
Ken

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
maybe fill and flush a few times with hot water would speed the process of removing the tase up.

did they sell it to you as a food grade tank ?
Did you fill with a normal garden hose - taste can come from that

what about pouring some lemon juice or vineagar in there........
its basically an edible disinfectant.........
otherwise.....there are tablets you can buy specifically made for sterilising water tanks....these should do the trick......
