I must confess I don't know whether Cowleys is as old as that, but I know it was trading over 50 yrs ago.....you could be on a winner for the age stakes. Anybody have any ideas for Cowleys?
Regardless, they were magic floaters
Newsflash.....look up www.practicallyedible.com/floaters....reference to Cowleys in the early 1900's in Adelaide and claims that is where the floater originated from.

And today's history lesson continues re the floater....check www.globalfoodie.com/2009/05aussie-pies/
It claims the floater actually originated in Pt Pirie and spread to Adelaide in the early 1900's. Also mentions Harry de wheels but states that what they sold was NOT the fabled floater but a version thereof.
Not my claims I hasten to add, that is what is written
Also claims that Harry de Wheels started in the late 1930's.
