    Exclamation Sugestion to abandon 4WD

Dr Mark Stokes president of Kidsafe Australia come again with the neurotic idea that if the public abandon the 4WD vehicles lives will be save.
Why minority groups like this can attract the media attention?
I am sick to read misinformed and hysterical articles like this which will encourage a popularity hunting ignorant politician to propose a law in the parliament.
I just wonder if it is now the time for the 4WD comminity to answear these claims once for all.

    The article is HERE

Dr of what?? Just because he is a doctor does not in the slightest make him right. Too many people believe that just because he has a Dr in front of his name he must know what he is talking about. Well that is absolute rubbish. As said time and time again on that basis then lets also get rid of vans, trucks, buses, trams & trains (especially after this week). Oh and while we are at it lets get ride of all high performance vehicles and bikes and I dont mean V8 Commodores and Fords I mean high end sports cars like BMWs, Ferarris and Porsches. Oh thats right these are doctors cars so they pose no harm. And probablly the domain of the doctors the Range Rover.
Lets also get rid of Ambulances (they are big) especially the 4wd versions and maybe the fire trucks and rescue vehicles.
While we are at it may as well get rid of planes as well.
Lets all rush out and buy Hyundai Elantras, so when we roll them or have a head on, hit a cow or a roo we are all killed instantly.
    What a dickhead.

I'd like to get rid of push bikes with brightly coloured leotard wearing road hogs on them if thats possible as well? I've crested a few hills and nearly knocked some of them over out my way.

My B-I-L is a Dr. and drives 200 Series turbo diesel. He's a nuclear physicist. I wonder if I can get him to write a pro-4WD article - and why they should be better nuclear powered.

    What a dickhead.

You can't get Elantras anymore but the modern day versions of them are that safe I'd dare say I'd prefer to be in an accident in one of them as opposed to a 110.

Even the bargain budget 12k Hyundai's have ESP and airbags.

Love to see a Nuclear powered car, don't go over 85mph though. Imagine the Summernats, would it still be called a burnout comp?

Why do they always blame the Vehicle?

It's not the Vehicles fault! It's the Numpty behind the wheel

These parents should take a lot more care of there children and know where they are at all times!

And yes i am a parent who owns a 4wd and i always make sure i know were my Daughter is at all time when moving our Vehicles It's not hard!!

    Enough said.

To put it in perspective, I think the article referred to thirteen deaths, ten due to four wheel drives or other large vehicles, in ten years. Compare this, for example, with the number of deaths of similar age children in swimming pools over the same period. I don't know the number, but it is much higher. Should we get rid of swimming pools?

You've capitalised that so it must be a person's name. Poor Numpty (who is on this forum). Taking the blame for it.

I would love to see the design of the cooling system in a nuclear powered vehicle
