    The Cons continue

    Hi all

I recently advertised a caravan on Ebay and a few days later recieved a text message asking for my best price, To which I responded. This is clearly a scam and I was onto it streight away due to the spelling and grammer, but decided to have a bit of fun and see how much of this mongerals time I can waste.

I have forwarded the emails and details to Ebays sequrity centre but do not expect much.

Below is a copy of the emails to date, any good ideas as to waste more of this clowns time would be good

I cannot pay through ebay as i have had problems with them before, and i will really NOT WANT to deal with them, they made me lost nearly $12,750 when i paid for an item i bought from a guy and he never sent the item, i emailed paypal and paypal said ebay didnt forward the necessary details to them and that since i used the buy it now, i should forward all complaints to ebay which i did but up till date they didnt do anything, sorry but i will only pay straight into your paypal account. Try and get my situation here, once bitten twice shy.You are not the problem here, its ebay that messes things up. So i will be happy if you can get back to me with your paypal email address so that i can proceed with the payment immediately...Thanks and God Bless..

Hi again sorry to hear about your problems with Ebay, I'm always worried that the same thing might happen to me. It might be better if you arranged a direct transfer to my account or prehaps a Bank Cheque? I'm wondering how you intend to pick the van up? Must be intresting working on an oil rig, which one are you on? hope to hear from you soon. You must understand that while you are the highest bid so far I need to see if I get a better bid in the time left. Good luck Andrew

My shipping agent will be responsible for inspecting and for the pick up...so kindly get back to me with your paypal email so i can deposit the money to your account so that my agent can come over to your location to have the car pick up once the transaction has been completed..waiting to read from you soon..

Yep, gotta love that one, or the working on a container ship at sea.

But Im interested to see how he will scam you, if he gets your paypal email account how does he intend to actually scam any money off you. In the past they mention that you pay the cost of freight and such because they cant get near a bank etc and they will pay you back when they come ashore but he hasnt mentioned that.

This came up again last week. I put up a link to the previous thread where a friend of one of the forum members had lost money and how it was done.

Some folk are either too trusting or too stupid.

Its been tried on me 3 times now, twice I handed the file I had created over to the local CIB. Here in SA they have allocated a special branch to deal with these scams recently.

Not sure how he is going to try to get the money, sadly after ten emails I think hes onto my little game and hasnt responded since I told him someone has outbidded him and he will need to up the bid.

would be great to catch the bastard but I dont think thats possible?

Oh no, not the old " I work on an oil rig" scam, wouldn't you think that these idiots would have moved onto something else by now!! Although I guess the old (at least ten years) Nigerian scam is still around!!
