    OMG- Zombies!

I hope you do write something up Wilbur. I don't know anything about battery charging so can't really enter into the technical merits of one view or the other. But I have seen knowledgeable people make contributions to fields outside their area of direct expertise before. It has happened in the industry I used to work in at one time and revolutionised people's understanding of some processes.

Yep, will do. I will wait until my D4 arrives mid-May (suffering cat-on-hot-tin-roof syndrome just now) so I can quote precise figures.

    Cheers,

It is difficult though to know what you mean by "provide the facts, not theory or fiction". I felt (and feel) that I WAS quoting facts. I did not cite references, but then neither did the other contributors. I have had people argue points when I have had "legislation 7 standards" sitting in front of me to the point where the reply has been along the lines"well it is so in NSW, you live in WA", even though a lot is national.

If I am shown to be wrong, I have no problem admitting it - I have had plenty of practice doing so! However, though I may walk away from a discussion when I feel I am batting my head against a brick wall, I won't walk away saying I was wrong unless I believe I WAS wrong. In this case, I am morally and absolutely convinced that I was completely correct, but as a lone voice against the aggressive 'opposition' I gave up.

Of course in a forum like this there should be no concept of arguing back, or opposition.

I would like to write a short essay on battery management and post it here. I am not sure it will be welcome, but when I get time I will do it. It might well save someone from grief.

    Cheers,

    Paul
    Paul,
By all means put your evidence forward. Will be an interesting read I am sure and am certain I may learn something from it and the discussion around it. Most thoughts are welcome and you should not take discussion too personally.
As always there will be differing opinion, some based on fact, some life experience and some on myths. Usually there is more than one way to skin a cat.
I am certainly not taking any sides and usually weigh up the arguments and make an informed decision for myself.
I have been in your position a few times and often, you need to walk away for a bit and get a clear head.
The hardest discussions are philosophical or personal opinion as often there is no real wrong or right.
I do hope you stay on board. As I have learnt it is far easier to walk away than to hang around.
    Cheers
    Craig
