    Thumbs down Sus Ebay Seller?

Clearly I found myself with a little too much time, but I couldnt help myself.

I was looking to add some extra LEDs for the camping set up and thought I would try and support Australian owned retailers via Ebay, I decided on 2 different types of lights I wanted and made bids on thes items.
As this seller had quantities of the same item I wasnt fussed to be outbid, I just went to the next item finishing later and bid my highest amount.

Over the last 4 weeks I was outbid 6 to 4 hours before auction end. Oh well such is life right?
Well, I went and had a look at to see the bid history of these items and then started to look at others and found that the same bidder outbid me in all cases. Always at 0600 EST. A closer look at this bidder revealed that they had made 1787 bids in the last 30 days, all in this section of ebay. I decided to check on any items from this seller and watched the lat 20 items count down and in all cases where the item wasnt close to the original buy it now price, the same bidder was the winner.

So you are probably thinking "harden up" whoever this bidder is probably buys and resells.

Surprise, despite winning more than 150 items over the last 30 days alone, in the same section, their feed back score hasnt budged and yet they have 100%positive feed back.

    I think something stinks here.

Seller has two accounts (or a friend or relative has an account) and uses the second account too pump up the price of the items prior too the final sale.

Oldest trick in th ebay Book

    Edit:

Well spotted though, Good ebaying mate!

    Does Ebay actually do anything.

I have had a number of issues over the years with both sellers and buyers and have reported them but ebay has never done anything. I have a case open on a non payer and nothing is happening - as a seller I cannot even leave negative feedback on this non paying buyer.

Service and ebay should not be used in the same sentence.

I had all my issues resolved satisfactorily over the years, however speed certainly isn't something you can expect. I just got a refund on listing fees that were incurred when an item was duplicated while listing on eBay mobile. Took about 2 working days. *however* - I do suspect they "look after" their good sellers. So if old mate is shill bidding and still making eBay "good coin" I doubt they'll treat the matter with any urgency. (This is groundless, just a suspicion )

    bidding

Why don't you buy one and then leave negative feedback because of his shonky practice. He will then no doubt want to have the negative removed and will go to ebay to open a dispute. That is when you get to make your point. The biggest problem with ebay is there is no genuine competition for them. At present.

    ebay ! bah.

Trying to sell the bride's wedding dress (with her consent I might add) was a nghtmare, and eventually unsuccesful.

At one point we received an email from ebay to say our ad had been deleted due to "attempted fraud by someone bidding on your item". They did graciously (ha ha) add that they wouldn't charge us for the listing. How noble of them.

I asked i they could relist the ad for me. No they couldn't I would have to do it.

I asked if they could provide a copy of the ad (I hadn't kept all the details / answers to questions asked, etc) . No the couldn't.

I asked if they could supply the usernames of people who had asked questions so I could contact them. No they wouldn't.

At the end of this conversation they asked if there was anything ELSE they could help me with. When I said they hadn't helped me with anything yet.. they said they were doing everything they culd to "improve my ebay experience". FFS what a pack of fools.
