SubscriberTo make a long story short, my wife's car was in need of a full drain including cleaning injectors, new fuel pump and a sample, taking from the fuel rail. She has a business fuel card and used the very same servo at where she works. $2000.- later, Caltex goes ..well, sorry, but..we sold 2000 plus from this station and no other problems....
Has someone gone through similar? What is a good way to go from here on? Thanks already marc
Same sort of thing happened here a while ago but with BP......a number of cars put off the road for repairs.
Get the fuel tested and if it's crap contact the fuel company, not the servo operator. BP capitulated when the fuel was found to be rubbish and they paid for all repairs. All the crap was from one underground tank and bowser only.
A lot of adverse publicity in the local rag didn't help either BP or the servo operator.

sorry, but is the problem that your wife's car had problems related to dirty fuel? And the fuel came from the service station where she works?
If that's right I think you will have a hard time in proving that the dirty fuel came from that servo - which is why they are not being very helpful in the first place. I would think your only option, if you want to press it, is to get some legal advice - they may be able to force that servo to produce a fuel sample, but it would be an expensive road to go down.
On an unrelated, but sort of related topic - I stopped using Caltex servos last year because they seem to have changed all their diesel pumps to BS "premium" diesel, where only the price is premium! My workplace cancelled all our Caltex cards because of the same issue.

Marc, generaly the best way is to escalate to the highest person in that business, Was it a Caltex or a co branded Caltexs Woolworths?, this will asssit with whos customer service centre you escalte it to. Answers to the below you assist with your communication to the company
How soon did the car break down after filling up ? did it get of the forecourt.
Your wifes fuel card is it a starcard ? showing in history she only buys Caltex fuels? and do you have regular service history for the car
Was there a tanker on site delievering fuel at the time of fill up?
Has your mechanic written you a report as to What / Why your fuel system needed overhaul.
Has the sample been anaylised, what were the results - water / partical / shandy etc
Not clear in your first post does your wife work for caltex? If so do they have an internal procedure?
A well documented factual response covering the above points, to a supervisor / team leader in the'companys tech team or customer service team' with the lines along escalateing it to small claims if not staisfied should see some action

We just had the letter from customerservice in mail today. No, my wife doesn't work for Caltex. But, she is using this fuel since a couple of months. Yes, car was serviced, Mazda said it is all fuel related issues. I probably go for a second letter to customerservices........Thanks again.m
