Product placement -re landrovers
Have you all noticed of late on tv ads there seems to be a lot more land rovers in the back ground ? Or am I just going further to the green side of the force and seeing them more? F.w.d.v latest mag and what`s on the front a land rover, also one on the back. Seems to be a subtle marketing push by Land rover. Which is a good thing.

I think you are right in that they are becoming more recognisably mainstream, but doubt it is Rover Aus that's doing the hard work. I think its more that the Rangie, Def and Disco are iconic within their marketplaces, they stand out from their competitors so well.

Yeah you may be right. But there is a ad for careers. Shows a successful family scene and in the drive is a Disco. So the message being portrayed is obvious. Not out right selling a land rover but connecting it to being successful. Bit like product placement in films to make them seen. Also a cheap way of getting your product seen.
