I will be in my D2 and O-D in his mad as Jeepasaurus, we get away with the kids 4 in total between us.
Last year when snow was falling at Barrington there were a total of 3 cars on the mountain, The Ranger, O-D and me it was unreal.
We dont have chains and try to avoid the ice, but may have to get some in the future.
This pic off the WZ forum at about 630 tonite near lithgow

G'day,
Is that photo fair dinkum?,I'm heading to Lithgow in July to film trains through the mountains,I'm staying at the historic Rydal railway station ,the next one south of Lithgow and the owners tell me I might see snow(first time for me),looks like they may be right!!.Do I need to treat my fuel(diesel) to stop it ffrom freezing ,I've never been South for the winter before
,really looking forward to it
Cheers Gregg.

We were down to 700m yesterday morning. Last report was 1500m late this arvo, but you can still see the snow from the Hume Weir on the way to work.
Over night temps here have hovered around 0; but Falls Creek was at -7 this morning!
Cheers
Chris
Snow in the Blue Mtns rarely lasts the day out I'm afraid. The highway at Lithgow was cut a few nights ago but only for a few hours.
