Glind/Twine Showers

Has anyone had any experience with these ?

Camping shower. The RainMan hot camp shower

Heat it next to the fireplace, on a fuel/gas stove .... doesn't need to boil, just get warm enough to shower under ... and you can carry it away from the vehicle in to the scrub for some privacy if need be.

$349 hurts a bit, perhaps a $20 garden spray will do more per $ spent.

Maybe, but price aside, It can be sat next to a fire to warm up, or be put on a gas/fuel stove to warm ... which you can't do with a plastic pressure sprayer. It's not attached/reliant on the vehicle to operate ... doesn't need 12v or an engine running, and can be carried to anywhere to be used ... all the others can't/don't.

$20 is alot cheaper, but those $20 cheapies are rubbish. I sell a nice 7.5L sprayer (repairable) at work ... they're only about $120 ... then have to fashion a tap/rose and a stand to hang it from ... but it's still plastic ... and I need to carry it in a D2 with 3 passengers + gear ... the Rainman looks like alot less hassle, hence the question ...

Rainman looks good. I have a coleman and would not recommend them. Very fiddly, when using it for a shower with a shower tent you have to have it up on a table next to the tent door so you can reach out and turn it no and off and adjust temps etc. Very sensitive to pressure and overheating and not a great shower. I think heating up a little water putting it in a bucket with a simple 12 V submersible pump and shower is hard to beat. 10 litres is more than enough for a shower and gets up to shower temp in very little time either with a fire or on the stove. If you have one of those jump starters then they are very mobile. If not then a 12v extension from your car is no big deal either. I would not bother with the heat exchange, again you are stuck with showering next to your car but I can see that is some situations it would work out well but for me not wort it.

Yes, I have a Twine shower in the Puma.
This is now the 4th vehicle that I have had this Shower installed - works great every time. In cooler climates we generally shower when the engine is still warm from the days drive; in warmer weather there is no need to even have the engine running.

The water is usually sourced from an undercar tank, so we can have a shower after a bike ride.

I can also recirculate the water in the tank whilst driving, but only need to do so if we are in the High Country in the middle of winter and the water is really really cold (i.e. one cycle through the heat exchanger does not make it hot enough).

It works well up there, and the pump sits below it on top of the main chassis rail.
