    Chainsaw Purchase

Just thought I would let people know of a recent chainsaw purchase from the USA.

I bought a Husqvarna 576 xp from Ball Equipment in Michgan USA.

Power Seller with 99.5% satisfaction rate.

This model is available in Australia.

Landed in Melbourne for APPROX $920.00 Australian complete with 3 chains.

    No taxes, 10 day delivery.

    RRP in Australia $1700.00

    Cheapest price in Australia $1300.00

Unpacked today & fired up - all OK genuine Husqvarna.

Wanted to buy Australian but at that price could not go past it.

I guess the risk is breakdown - it is covered by 2 years warantee but have to send it back.

Given the price I thought it was worth the risk.

    Regards

    Chuck

    husky saw

Wondering who you used for freight and customs clearance. It's a good price for a good saw.

    The seller arranged the lot.

    Look on ebay us site.

According to the tracking report it was only in customs for 30 minutes.

I nearly bought a 372 when the dollar hit $1.08 not long ago. At the same time a secondhand unit sold on Ebay for $80.00 less than this would have cost delivered new
Some serious savings to be had. Funnily enough, no Stihls, Jonsereds, or Makita's are advertised.
Bet the local Husqvarna importer is fuming..

    Chainsaw Insurance

After having my old chainsaw stolen in a ram raid last year, I now have a chainsaw & brush cutter listed as portable valuables on my home & contents. Only costs a few bucks extra a month.

If your new saw is worth $1,700 may be worth investigating.

Don't need it if the total comes under A$1000, and sometimes over sneaks through without GST or duty added.

The best way for chainsaws or bits to come from the US is US Post Priority Paid International Parcel Post.

    Comes straight through.

Husky, Stihl and Dolmar aren't supposed to do internet sales but some dealers do it on the sly, or you get someone over there to buy and post for you.
