Estimate for value of mods/addons
G'day all again!
Picking up the Defender this evening, and trying to get insurance sorted for it before picking it up. It looks like a lot of the insurance companies need you to list all the mods/accessories you're also insuring, and the value of each. Being a bit of a novice here, I was wondering if anybody could give rough ball-park figures for the value of these items, fitted to an '02 110. Vehicle has done around 82K kms, so I don't think any of these items are terrible old.
- LR OEM bullbar
- Warn winch (don't know which model)
- Rock sliders/Bash guards
- Roof rack (looks like the Windcheetah half-rail design)
- Safari snorkel
- 127L long range fuel tank
- Front and rear maxi-drive diff locks
- Bruce Davis intercooler and ECU mod chip
- Lift kit (engineer certified)
- Air shocks (rear)
- Dual batteries
- Cargo barrier
- Tow bar
- Gunyah roll-out awning
Any advice on any of these items greatly appreciated. I could have a stab at some of them based on similar products I can find on the net, but some of them I have no idea.
I'll also have more of an idea of the exact make/model of some of the bits, for example which Warn winch it is, and which dual-battery setup is in use, after this weekend.
We're looking forward to playing with our new toy, and looking forward to getting to know people on the forum here.
Cheers, and thanks!
Michael

For the diff locks I would suggest you use ARB prices as you can't buy Maxi's anymore, so any replacement would have to be what's available, Regards Frank.

Actually for the diff locks use ashcroft prices as maxi's came with stronger axles and probably cv's, so around $3500-4k
The bullbar, snorkel, winch and LR fuel tank are all ARB, (in 02 the bullbar was either arb manufactered or a copy with a LR stamp on it.) so contact them for the prices. Tow bar would be arb as well as LR original did not fit with LR tank.
Check out Mulgo for rock slider and bash plate prices so sliders are around 700 and plates extra.
Bruce davis intercooler was around 1200 last LR expo in sydney not sure of chip $$. You may also have silicon intercooler hoses(around 300) and an exhaust system to add to the list as well.
Cargo barrier is around 500-850 depending upon supplier , look on evilbay.
Engineers report= ouch could be as little as 500 or much more? You only need an eng. report if it's over 2in lift or bigger than 34in tyres in the defenders case.
Shocks and suspension you will need to look up the maker and see what the prices are, try suspension wharehouse, arb, tjm etc.
This sounds like a very well kitted out defender, could you post some pic's in my defender section?

Thanks heaps for the replies, guys...
Tank, I've also read you can't buy the Maxi-Drive lockers any longer, so I will use the ARB as comparable.
Frantic, I think you're on the money with a lot of the kit you've mentioned - the LR tank looks like an ARB unit, and I think Mulgo are the rock sliders etc.
Much appreciated!
Will definitely post pics and more detailed specs when I get a chance to look and play. She has been owned by somebody previously from this forum - Toby.

A little bit more info, now that I got it home and had a look at some of the things...
- LR OEM bullbar
- Warn winch (don't know which model) - can't see too much behind the BB, but can read "9500 lbs" on it

- Roof rack (looks like the Windcheetah half-rail design) - "Rackmaster Safari", which appears to be the same as the Windcheetah design
- Safari snorkel
- 127L long range fuel tank - "The Long Ranger" by Out of Town 4WD P/L, Barnsley NSW
- Front and rear maxi-drive diff locks - Engineer's certificate also mentions that it has the maxi-drive axles front and rear, and maxi-drive CVs.
- Bruce Davis intercooler and ECU mod chip
- Lift kit (engineer certified)
- Air shocks (rear)
- Dual batteries
- Cargo barrier
- Tow bar
- Gunyah roll-out awning
