Ha, not sure I would call time spent in Kandos a HOLIDAY!

I lived there for three years several years ago, living in the Dept of Education house behind the Police Station (parents were teachers).

A very "small town" place, though had its advantages. Scouts/Venturers on a Friday night could be spent climbing around on the mountain behind the town, not many places with terrain like that literally across the road from the hall...

Might be worth a drive out to Dunn's Swamp, east of Rylstone, if you have time. It is a nice area, and I believe it has had a fair bit of money spent in the last few years tidying the area up.

Have fun in with nice Central Tablelands winter weather!

    Cheers,
    Chris

It looks like a lovely little spot to spend a couple of weeks.

I used to live in nearby Rylstone........

...... more than 50 years ago (my grandfather's company had a dolomite mine there - Dad was the engineer who designed and coordinated the building of the crushing plant).

Beautiful part of the country!!Just avoid the cement trucks and coal trucks
Plenty of wineries at nearby Mudgee. Not sure about any 4wd parks, but there are lots of nearby areas that are the playgrounds of Sydney based 4wders.We will be up near there on Sunday at The Garden of Stones NP on an AULRO outing.
